Ms. Betts is President of the Foundation for the Education of Young Women. She also serves on the Board of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dallas, and TACA. Ms. Betts is chairman of the 2007 Cattle Baron's Ball which is the largest single fundraiser for the American Cancer Society in the United States. Ms. Betts received her bachelor's degree in Russian, Political Science and History from Southern Methodist University. She received her Juris Doctorate from American University.


Gloria Campos

Gloria Campos is co-anchor of News 8 at 6 and News 8 at 10, and is the producer of "Wednesday's Child" on WFAA-TV/Channel 8 in Dallas, Texas. Campos joined WFAA-TV as a general assignments reporter in 1984. Campos' community involvement is extensive. She is a member of organizations such as the Advisory Board of the Department of Mass Communication at Texas State University in San Marcos, the Dallas Summit, the (DFW) Network of Hispanic Communicators and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She serves on the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood of North Texas.


Laura V. Estrada

Laura Estrada truly understands the significance of all girl academic institutions. She attended a girl’s school for twelve years; then graduated from a women’s university. Over the last thirty years she has given back to women and girl-focused projects in her community. Estrada served as president of the Dallas Women’s Foundation, Texas Woman’s University Foundation and Hispanic 100. She also chaired the City of Dallas Cultural Affairs Commission and was the 2009 chairman of the board for the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau. Recognized as a distinguished alumna, Estrada graduated from Texas Woman’s University. She is president and owner of Garza Business Services, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in corporate, legal and financial printing.


Liza Lee, Advisor to the FEYW Board

Columbus School for Girls

Liza Lee served as the first Executive Director of the Foundation for the Education of Young Women 2004-2005. She is a national leader in the education of girls and young women. From 1989 to 2004, Liza was the Eugene McDermott Headmistress of The Hockaday School in Dallas where she established the school's reputation as one of the best independent secondary schools in the country. In May 2005, SMU conferred upon Elizabeth M. (Liza) Lee the degree Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa. From 2005 to 2008, Mrs. Lee served as the Interim Head of School at the Porter-Gaud School in Charleston, South Carolina and Trinity Episcopal School in Austin, Texas. She is now Head of School at the Columbus School for Girls in Columbus, Ohio.


Barbara D'Auria Lerner, Ph.D.

Barbara D'Auria Lerner works to ensure effective partnerships between Texas Woman's University and public and postsecondary school, business, and community stakeholders. Dr. Lerner, the first to serve in this role at TWU, is an Associate Professor with experience in Teacher Education and formerly served as the Associate Dean of TWU's College of Professional Education. Dr. Lerner holds a Master's degree in early childhood and special education from The George Washington University and a Ph.D. in special education from Texas Woman's University.


Evelyn Miller

Evelyn Henry Miller is a financial leader with over 20 years of corporate experience. In Evelyn's most recent role as Executive Vice President for The Dallas Morning News, she was responsible for Finance, Information Technology and Administration. Evelyn currently serves on the following boards and advisory councils: Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity, Volunteer Center of North Texas, 6th Floor Museum, Dallas South News and FEI Magazine.


Camie Shelmire

Camie Shelmire is a Director and is Head of WSO Client Management for Markit Group, a leading global financial services company. Camie is based in Dallas. Camie had served as Chief Administrative Officer for J.P. Morgan FCS from 2008 to 2009, when the firm was acquired by Markit. Previously, Camie was a Senior Manager for KMPG LLP, where she led technology projects and designed strategies for CIO organizations. Prior to KPMG LLP, Camie was a Senior Manager at the management consulting firm BearingPoint, where she led merger integrations programs for several large global banks. Camie holds a BA in Journalism/Political Science from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

With over a decade of dedication to all-girls education, Michele Snyder has served as Ursuline Academy's Director of Admission for the past six years. She earned her Masters Degree in Education and National Certification in School Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. Throughout her professional life, Michele has focused on creating student leadership opportunities and guiding young women toward exploring new ground.

Kelly Tacke joined Palm Harbor Homes in 1993; she currently serves as the company's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Tacke's responsibilities include involvement in strategic direction, developing and maintaining policies and procedures as well as working closely with Palm Harbor's board of directors. Due to the company's strong policies and controls, Forbes recently named Palm Harbor Homes one of America's 10 Most Trustworthy Companies. Ms. Tacke has 29 years of experience in the financial sector and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.


Ann Rubenstein Tisch, Advisor to the FEYW Board

Ann Rubenstein Tisch is Founder and President of the Young Women's Leadership Foundation in New York which supports a network of five single gender schools in New York City and Philadelphia. Ms. Rubenstein began a 19-year career in broadcast journalism at WIBW-TV in Topeka, Kansas. She then moved to WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and later joined NBC Network News as a National Correspondent. At NBC, Ms. Rubenstein worked on several magazine shows, covering political, medical, and human interest stories. She also served as a substitute anchor on the "Today Show" and "NBC at Sunrise."


Ashley Tripplehorn

Ashley Tripplehorn is a partner in the interior design firm Tripplehorn Hoak Interiors. She is passionate about women’s causes, in particular, empowering young women through education, as she herself is a product of a single-sex education. Ashley earned an MFA in Design from George Washington University’s Mount Vernon College and a BA in Art History from Mary Baldwin College in Virginia. Actively involved in the Dallas community, Ashley currently serves on the Board of the University of Texas at Dallas Center for Brain Health, is a member of The Crystal Charity Ball, and continues her fundraising efforts for Cattle Baron’s Ball and TACA.


Todd A. Williams

A native Dallasite, Todd attended D.I.S.D. schools and has remained focused with his wife Abby on public education for a number of years. He is the former chairman of both the Real Estate Center at the University of Texas and The Real Estate Council in Dallas and currently serves on the Board of Trustees and Investment Committee for both UPLIFT Education in Dallas, Texas (a college-prep charter school organization) and Austin College in Sherman, Texas. Todd earned an MBA with distinction from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989 and a BA (summa cum laude) from Austin College in 1982.
