  • Arcilia Acosta Arcilia Acosta President and CEO CARCON Industries & Construction

    Arcilia Acosta has spent her career in the construction industry and has succeeded in an industry where few women have successfully emerged as leaders. In 2003, Ms. Acosta led the start-up of Southwestern Testing Laboratories (STL Engineers), a geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and environmental consulting firm based in Dallas. Today, STL Engineers has a list of clients (partial) that include the Texas Department of Transportation, North Texas Tollway Authority, D/FW Airport, Hillwood Development, Kimley-Horn, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. In July 2005, Ms. Acosta was elected Chair-Elect for TAMACC (Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce), the umbrella organization of the 26 Hispanic Chambers in Texas with over 15,000 members. Ms. Acosta is a graduate from Texas Tech University and a graduate of the Harvard Business School - Corporate Governance Program.

  • Gina Betts Gina Betts Partner Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP

    Gina E. Betts is a corporate/securities partner with Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP in Dallas where she is chairman of the firm's Private Equity Practice Group. Ms. Betts is President of the Foundation for the Education of Young Women. She also serves on the Board of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dallas, and TACA. Ms. Betts is chairman of the 2007 Cattle Baron's Ball which is the largest single fundraiser for the American Cancer Society in the United States. Ms. Betts received her bachelor's degree in Russian, Political Science and History from Southern Methodist University. She received her Juris Doctorate from American University.

  • Gloria Campos Gloria Campos News Anchor WFAA-TV

    Gloria Campos is co-anchor of News 8 at 6 and News 8 at 10, and is the producer of "Wednesday's Child" on WFAA-TV/Channel 8 in Dallas, Texas. Campos joined WFAA-TV as a general assignments reporter in 1984. Campos' community involvement is extensive. She is a member of organizations such as the Advisory Board of the Department of Mass Communication at Texas State University in San Marcos, the Dallas Summit, the (DFW) Network of Hispanic Communicators and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She serves on the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood of North Texas.

  • Serena Simmons Connelly Serena Simmons Connelly, LMSW Associate Director Harold Simmons Foundation

    Serena Connelly is a social worker and manages the varied grantmaking activities of the Harold Simmons Foundation in Dallas, Texas. She has a passion for empowering marginalized segments of our community, and as such, co-founded the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas in 1999 to assist political asylum seekers, battered immigrant women and human trafficking victims in the Metroplex. She serves on the boards of HRI, Dallas Women's Foundation, Dallas Zoological Society, and is a member of the League of Women Voters. Serena received her Bachelors Degree in Classical Studies at Brown University and her Masters in Social Work at UT Arlington. She was named the 2001 Social Worker of the Year by the Dallas chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.

  • Liza Lee Liza Lee Headmistress, retired The Hockaday School

    Liza Lee served as the first Executive Director of the Foundation for the Education of Young Women. She is a national leader in the education of girls and young women. From 1989 to 2004, Liza was the Eugene McDermott Headmistress of The Hockaday School in Dallas where she established the school's reputation as one of the best independent secondary schools in the country. In May 2005, SMU conferred upon Elizabeth M. (Liza) Lee the degree Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa. From fall 2005 to spring 2007, she served as Interim Head of School for the Porter-Gaud School in South Carolina.

  • Barbara A. Lerner Barbara A. Lerner, Ph.D. Coordinator for P-16 Initiatives Texas Woman's University

    Barbara D'Auria Lerner works to ensure effective partnerships between Texas Woman's University and public and postsecondary school, business, and community stakeholders. Ms. Lerner, the first to serve in this role at TWU, is an Associate Professor with experience in Teacher Education and formerly served as the Associate Dean of TWU's College of Professional Education. Dr. Lerner holds a Master's degree in early childhood and special education from The George Washington University and a Ph.D. in special education from Texas Woman's University.

  • Evelyn Miller Evelyn Miller Executive Vice President The Dallas Morning News

    Evelyn Henry Miller is a financial leader with over 20 years of corporate experience. In Evelyn's role as Executive Vice President for The Dallas Morning News, she is responsible for Finance, Information Technology and Administration. Evelyn currently serves on the following boards and advisory councils: Better Business Bureau of Greater Dallas, Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity and FEI Magazine.

  • Carmyn Neely Carmyn Neely Executive Director Foundation for the Education of Young Women

    Ms. Carmyn Neely has 38 years of experience in the education field. She has served as a classroom teacher, an adjunct professor, and an administrator at the school campus, district, and state levels. Throughout her career, Ms. Neely has focused on curriculum and instruction at the school and administration level in districts throughout the state of Texas.

  • Lee Posey Lee Posey

    Lee Posey was founder of the Foundation for the Education of Young Women. He was also the founder of Palm Harbor Homes. Mr. Posey served on numerous boards such as the Cooper Institute and Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He also served on the boards of The Young Women's Leadership Foundation-NYC, and the Board of Trustees at Alma College. Lee and his wife Sally endowed the Leadership Institute at Austin College, where he served on the President's Advisory Board.

  • Michele Snyder Michele Snyder Director of Admission Ursuline Academy of Dallas

    With over a decade of dedication to all-girls education, Michele Snyder has served as Ursuline Academy's Director of Admission for the past six years.  She earned her Masters Degree in Education and National Certification in School Psychology from the University of Cincinnati.  Throughout her professional life, Michele has focused on creating student leadership opportunities and guiding young women toward exploring new ground.

  • Ann Rubenstein Tisch Ann Rubenstein Tisch Founder & President The Young Women's Leadership Foundation NYC

    Ann Rubenstein Tisch is Founder and President of the Young Women's Leadership Foundation in New York which supports a network of five single gender schools in New York City and Philadelphia. Ms. Rubenstein began a 19-year career in broadcast journalism at WIBW-TV in Topeka, Kansas. She then moved to WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and later joined NBC Network News as a National Correspondent. At NBC, Ms. Rubenstein worked on several magazine shows, covering political, medical, and human interest stories. She also served as a substitute anchor on the "Today Show" and "NBC at Sunrise."

  • Ellen Williams Ellen C. Williams Foundation for Community Empowerment

    Ellen Williams works with the Foundation for Community Empowerment on special projects related to education and student achievement. She also serves on the board of Head Start Greater Dallas and serves on the Advisory Committees at Genesis Women's Shelter and the Booker T. Washington School for the Performing Arts.

  • Todd A. Williams Todd A. Williams Managing Director Goldman, Sachs & Co

    Todd has been with Goldman Sachs since 1989 with a primary focus on real estate private equity, becoming a managing director of the firm in 1997 and a partner in 2000. A native Dallasite, Todd attended D.I.S.D. schools and has remained focused with his wife Abby on public education for a number of years. He is the former chairman of both the Real Estate Center at the University of Texas and The Real Estate Council in Dallas and currently serves on the Board of Trustees and Investment Committee for both UPLIFT Education in Dallas, Texas (a college-prep charter school organization) and Austin College in Sherman, Texas. Todd earned an MBA with distinction from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989 and a BA (summa cum laude) from Austin College in 1982.
